The challenge
Amihan Resort sits in Panglao, Bohol, a real, established Philippine beach destination, but one where guests routinely search and book through the same channel: Google, right before they decide where to stay. Independent resorts here compete for that map-pack moment not just against each other, but against OTAs (Booking.com, Agoda) that charge a standing commission on every booking they route. That cost disappears the moment a guest books direct instead.
The approach
- Rebuilt the Google Business Profile category and attribute structure so the listing surfaces for the specific searches a Panglao-bound traveler actually types, not just the generic ones.
- Ran a geo-tagged photo strategy: real, current photos tied to the property’s exact location, refreshed on a schedule rather than uploaded once and left static.
- Put a consistent GBP posting cadence in place, so the profile shows an active, maintained business every time someone lands on it.
- Set up a structured review generation system, since review velocity and recency are both real ranking and trust signals for a hospitality listing.
- Layered in technical local SEO on the resort’s own site (schema markup, page speed, structured data) so the site itself reinforces what the GBP listing already earns.
The results
“In just months, LocalEnhance helped us generate 74 direct bookings on our website—saving us significantly on third-party fees. Our Google Business Profile views also increased by 72% compared to last year on the same month. The results speak for themselves. Highly recommended!”
