The challenge
EMS training (electrical muscle stimulation) is a niche within fitness, which cuts both ways. The studio ranked first for EMS searches but in only 1 of the 15 broader kinds of search we track, so anyone searching "gym near me" instead of naming the method never saw it.
What we did
- Ran a full audit of its Maps rankings, its Google profile and what AI tools say about it.
- Tested 15 kinds of search on Google Maps, and the same 10 questions in Google's AI and in ChatGPT.
- Confirmed the first place on Maps, and recorded how often AI answers name the studio for EMS searches.
- Checked the website for technical problems and set what to fix first in the coming months.
Where it stands
The AI results stand out. Showing up in 8 of 20 AI searches, and first on Google for every EMS search checked, suggests Google and AI tools can read the profile clearly and trust it. The rest of the demand is in general fitness searches, beyond the EMS ones.
