Your reviews
Your reviews help decide where you rank, and who gets the call.
Google shows your star rating and your number of reviews next to your name on Maps. Both count toward where you rank, and both are the first thing a customer compares.
Every reply sits under its review on your Google profile (Google calls it a Google Business Profile), where the next customer reads it before they call.

A customer★★★★★
Booked for 10, still waited 25 minutes for a table. Coffee was good, but that wait ruined it.
Reply from the owner Draft, waiting for your approval
Thank you for telling us, and sorry. A booking should mean a table ready on time, and on Saturday it wasn’t. We have changed how we hold booked tables at busy times, and we would like to make it up to you on your next visit.
What Google looks at
Two of the top ten Maps factors are your reviews.
Whitespark surveys local search specialists on what moves a business up in the map results. In the 2026 list, two of the top ten are about reviews. The other eight are on your Google profile.
- Number 06
A high star rating
Your average on Google. Whitespark counts 4 and 5 stars as high.
- Number 09
How many Google reviews you have
Reviews left on Google itself, with written comments, not only stars.
Neither is something anyone can post for you. The rating and the reviews come from your customers. What you control is the answer each reviewer gets, and that answer is public: the next customer reads how you handled a complaint before deciding whether to call.

What we do Every plan
Every review answered, in your own voice.
A short interview at the start sets your tone: formal or casual, how you sign off, and the words you do and don’t use. Every reply is written to that.
-
Every review answered within 24 hours
In your own tone of voice, under settings you agree with us at the start. You choose which reviews get a reply straight away, five-star ones for example.
-
A draft on every 1 and 2-star review
A low rating never gets an automatic reply, whatever your plan or settings. It gets a draft, and nothing goes out until you approve it.
-
Critical reviews answered, never hidden
A fair complaint gets a considered public reply. A fake review, or one that breaks Google’s rules, is reported through Google’s own process, and we tell you when we do.
-
Watched wherever customers post
Google and Facebook on every plan, plus the review sites your industry uses.
What you see each month
Your reviews, in the monthly report.
Ready by the 8th, next to your Google profile and search numbers. You can read your reviews in your dashboard at any time.

How quickly each review got its reply
Google is not the only place reviews count. ChatGPT reads Yelp, and Apple Maps shows reviews from Yelp and Tripadvisor, so the same customer can see a different picture of you in each app.
